Ronald J. (Ron) Cormier serves as Managing Partner and subject matter expert for Rock Bottom Enterprises, LLC (RBE). He serves as Oil & Gas/Refining/Fuels & PetroChemicals subject matter expert for PLG Professional Logistics Consulting Group, headquartered in Chicago.

Mr. Cormier previously served as senior advisor to BWC/Contanda Terminal Company, LLC’s growth initiatives into bulk hydrocarbons storage, building upon the firm’s success during its first seventy years with food and agribusiness liquids at seventeen terminals in the US and Canada. He earlier served as Director, Hydrocarbons New Business Development at Contanda.
Mr. Cormier previously led Wood Mackenzie Americas’ commercial portfolio for downstream oil, fuel, chemical, and NGL product advisory practices over nine transformational years during Americas’s “shale gale”. He represented Wood Mac with the British American Business Council and sat on WM's Corporate Social Responsibility Charity Grants and Mentoring Committees. Prior to his service with Wood Mac, he led process tower internals and catalyst licensing business devel- opment for GTC Technology LP (GTC), Houston, Texas.
His career in the petrochemical and refining industries spans more than 40 years, having worked for Dow Chemical, Marubeni/JLM Industries/Olefins Terminal Corporation, Sunoco, Inc., Westlake Chemical, Chevron Corporation, and Wood Mackenzie, Inc.. Beginning in the late 1980’s, Mr. Cormier rapidly moved through a series of assignments with Dow, holding responsibility for polymers, olefins/aromatics/fuel components businesses, in engineering, manufacturing, and commercial leadership. While at JLM, he was key to the leadership team on its IPO and subsequent NASDAQ listing.
Over the next dozen years, Cormier was responsible for commercial management of raw materials acquisition, commodity sales, pipeline/storage/logistics and business direction plus long-range capital decision-making at JLM, Sunoco, and Westlake, including WLK's NYSE listing in 2004.
Mr. Cormier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University’s Look College of Engineering and an Executive Masters of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University’s Mays College of Business, graduating as a Phi Kappa Phi honor graduate. He has previously served on the Board of Directors, Southwest Chemical Association (SWCA) and as SWCA President, Founders Club Board, as well as the Petrochemical Statistics Committee, American Fuels and Petrochemicals Association (AFPM). Cormier presently serves on the Board of Northeastern Chemical Association (NECA) as Membership Chairman, and acts as Texas A&M eMBA Class Representative to the University.
